We are a church founded on biblical truths. Our goal is to glorify God, help people form a relationship with Jesus Christ, and create a relational environment where friendships are formed and people become disciples for Christ.

The LIGHTHOUSE focuses on connecting people to Jesus, connecting believers with other believers, and entering into a real dialog about the love of Jesus Christ with individuals who have questions about why we believe Jesus Christ is the lord and Savior of all.

We recognize that as times change new approaches to the idea of “church” are needed to reach a new generation. The LIGHTHOUSE, while resolved to stick to fundamental biblical truths, seeks to reach the new generation with a less traditional church model. We invite you to experience our church, form/strengthen your relationship with Jesus Christ, and become part of our LIGHTHOUSE community.

Our Mission

To set The LIGHTHOUSE as a place and community that draws people to God. Not an experience but a lifestyle that is cultivated through community and the sharing of the Word of God. To create a culture built on the love and truth found in the Word. A place where all are welcome, where love and truth are spoken, and where people can meet with God. Our desire is that The LIGHTHOUSE would be a place where words and action meet.

Our Story

The LIGHTHOUSE, then called The Oak View Full Gospel Lighthouse, was founded in 1949 by founding Pastor AD & Mrs. McManama. The Full Gospel Lighthouse started with a small group of local people who desired to have a local church for the community. During the 60’s and 70’s the church was known for its great Sunday school and bus ministry programs. Under Rev. McManama more than 25 young couples were sent out into ministry and missions all over the world.

Since the founding pastors retired in the mid 1970’s the church has gone through some transitions, from name changes to staffing and back again. Now with our current pastors, who were raised in the Full Gospel Lighthouse, we are entering into a new season of life in the church and for the community around us. Our story is far from over, and we are excited to see what God decided to do next in this community through The LIGHTHOUSE.

Our Beliefs

We believe God is bigger, better and closer than we can imagine. He is the Creator and the Ruler of the Universe. He lives eternally in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

We believe the Bible is God’s perfect guidebook for living. It is His authoritative word to all people. It was written by human authors, under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is the supreme source of truth for Christians belief and living. In its original manuscripts, the Bible is inspired, infallible, and inerrant.

We believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He is equal with the Father. Jesus had a miraculous birth and conception, being conceived by the Holy Spirit in the virgin Mary. He lived a sinless life on earth and voluntarily paid for our sin by dying on the cross as our personal substitute. He arose from the dead to demonstrate His power over sin and death. He is reigning now in heaven, and is a mediator between God the Father and humanity. He will return to earth again to reign as the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords.

We believe the Holy Spirit is equal with the Father and the Son as God. He is present in the world to make people aware of their need to turn from their sins and to out their faith in Jesus Christ. He lives within every Christian from the moment of salvation. He provides the Christian with power for ministry, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance for living. The Christian seeks to love under His control daily. We are to use the power that we receive from His baptism, filling, and anointing to be effective witnesses for Jesus Christ in this world.

We believe human beings, male and female, have dignity and are of high value to God. They are created in the image of God, and are to be like Him in character. All people have tremendous potential for good, and are to love, be holy, and care for creation. Each of us however, is inherently marred by a inborn disobedience toward God called “sin”. Sin separates us from God, and places us in need of God’s grace.

We believe salvation is a gift from God and is offered to all people. We cannot make up for our sin by self-improvement or by good works. Trusting in Jesus as our Lord and Savior is the only path to God, and the only way to be saved from sins penalty. God’s grace has the power to transform lives, and to save us from His divine wrath and judgment. Eternal life begins the moment a person recognizes their need to be forgiven, turns their allegiance to God and receives Jesus Christ into his/her life by faith. This salvation is maintained by the grace and power of God, not by the self-effort of the person.

We believe that people will exist eternally in one of two ways: separated from God by sin, or in union with God through forgiveness and salvation in Jesus Christ. To be eternally separated from God is Hell. To be eternally in union with His is eternal life. Heaven and Hell are real places. God’s plan and desire is that all people will come to repentance in Jesus, and experience the full life that He has for them.
